Satellite: IL1

Pathway ID: SIGNOR-ScIL1SEC

Description: IL1 secreted from inflammatory cells, such as macrophages, plays a role in promoting satellite cell proliferation, while inhibiting their myogenic commitment. The IL1 pathway acts mainly through NF-kB, which can induce the transcription of several inflammatory cytokines, including IL1, which can in turn promote further NF-kB activation via a positive feedback loop.
