About

Welcome to PhosphoSIGNOR, a platform dedicated to extracting and displaying manually curated phosphorylation data from the SIGNOR database.

Our goal is to provide researchers, scientists, and bioinformaticians with targeted access to phosphorylation and dephosphorylation interactions, enabling better analysis of cellular signaling pathways.

With an intuitive interface and powerful filtering options, users can easily retrieve and visualize specific phosphorylation events, helping to advance research in molecular biology and systems biology.

Curation Effort

To accelerate curation, in collaboration with the Gyori Lab (https://gyorilab.github.io/) we developed a novel semi-automated workflow building on the INDRA system (https://www.embopress.org/doi/full/10.15252/msb.20177651, https://www.embopress.org/doi/full/10.15252/msb.202211325).

INDRA combines multiple machine reading systems to process literature content, and (guided by ontologies) aligns evidence for a given relationship across all supporting sources.

We used INDRA to assemble post translational modification relationships extracted from all publicly available biomedical abstracts and full text articles, and prioritized for curation ones that had not previously been available in SIGNOR, then curated these via the INDRA curation web interface (https://github.com/gyorilab/indra_curation) for ingestion into SIGNOR.
