Macrophage: TNF alpha
Pathway ID: SIGNOR-MacroTNFA
Description: Tumor necrosis factor alpha is a cytokine involved in inflammation processes. It binds to its receptors (TNFR1, TNFR2) resulting in the trimerization of TNFR1 or TNFR2. Upon binding of the ligand, TNFR mediates the association of TRADD or TRAF2, which in turn recruit signal transducers. TNFR1 signaling induces the activation of NF-kappa B pathway and the MAPK cascade controlled genes.
