Here, we identify and characterize the human SWI5-MEI5 (C9orf119-C10orf78) complex. We showed that SWI5 and MEI5 form a stable complex in vitro and in vivo. In this study, we report the identification and characterization of the human SWI5-MEI5 complex. This complex directly binds to RAD51 and promotes RAD51 focus formation following DNA damage. Together, these data support that SWI5-MEI5 is another mediator involved in homologous recombination repair in humans. |
