Function
E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase which may specifically enhance the E2 activity of HIP2. E3 ubiquitin ligases accept ubiquitin from an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme in the form of a thioester and then directly transfer the ubiquitin to targeted substrates (PubMed:16868077). May be involved in T-cell proliferation by regulating LIF secretion (By similarity). May play a role in lysosome homeostasis (PubMed:31270356).
The ubiquitination process is mediated sequentially by three classes of enzymes consisting of a Ub-activating enzyme E1, a Ub-conjugating enzyme E2, and a Ub ligase E3. Ub is first activated by E1 in an adenosine 5′-triphosphate (ATP)-dependent manner t
