Macrophage: IL1 beta transcriptional regulation
Pathway ID: SIGNOR-MacroIL1BTR
Description: IL-1 beta is an important pro-inflammatory cytokine secreted by macrophages at early stage of muscle regeneration. Its gene can be transcribed following HIF1 alpha transcriptional cascade. IRF5 is also a regulator of IL-1 beta and other pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. A positive role can be played by alpha-9-beta-1 integrin complex in the trascription of IL-1 beta. An impairment in NF-kB subunit RELA to the promoter of IL-1 beta gene can inhibit the transcription of the latter.
