FAP: IL4/IL13 induction
Pathway ID: SIGNOR-FapIL4View in NDEx
Description: Eosinophils are the main source of IL4 and IL13. These cytokines are able to activate fibro/adipogenic progenitors making them secrete a number of cytokines and growth factors important for satellite cell differentiation. IL4R acts through STAT6 transcription factor to transcribe a number of genes involved in muscle regeneration. The IL4R pathway is also able to repress the adipogenic fate of FAPs through the inhibition of PPAR gamma, a master regulator of adipogenesis.
